Selenium rich foods are also a good way of building the immune system up so start eating nuts and certain fish that contain selenium.
Foods that contain live cultures such as yoghurt replace your body with natural bacteria and eliminate any offensive bacteria. Garlic is a wonderful source supplying the body with anti fungal, bacterial, and viral properties, as well as sulphur compounds which aids the body into producing cysteine and gluthathione.
Olive oil and fish like sardines, mackerel and salmon produces the natural fatty acids the body requires. Nuts and avocados are also an excellent source to replenish fatty acids. Drinking the correct amount of water daily helps flush the system of any unwanted toxins as well as helping the immune system function correctly.
